Young people and communities building their future together
The Together Project
The Together Project was created by The Mix in early 2018 to focus on building partnerships with local businesses and organisations to increase community engagement and fundraising. As a charity that exists for young people we felt we could make a bigger impact on young people’s lives by working together as a community. After the success of year one, we have been fortunate in securing funding to enable the project to create a life skills and personal development programme with an emphasis on young people from age 15 to 24 who are currently not in education, employment or training and those who are wanting to grow and develop further.
Our life skills and personal development programme for young people has been specifically designed to help young people discover their true value and build their confidence, motivation and resilience for moving onto their next step, whether it be into employment, further education or training. The programme will be underpinned by our inspirational Leadership for Life course and then with feedback from local employers we will identify the skills and character development needed for young people to gain and sustain employment. Young people are co-designing the programme to ensure the content and language used is relevant and engaging. The programme will be tailored to the individual needs of each young person and 1 to 1 wellbeing coaching will be available throughout their journey.
