Our YOUTH WORK IN SCHOOLS is about being available to young people and supporting them with any challenges they are facing.

High School Years 7 to 13

Stowmarket High School & Stowupland High School

Monday - Thursdays (Term Time)

How to Use

Using Units

• Use EM for Padding, Margin, Width, Height, Transforms, & Font Sizes
• Use PX only for things that won't break the design if they don't scale such as border widths & drop-shadow distances
• Use % (optional) for columns inside containers

Scaling

• On tablet and below, change the body font size to PX or higher VW number
• On desktop, the design will scale up seamlessly. It will stop scaling when it reaches the max width of 1440px.
• There is no need to add larger breakpoints

Come in, hang out and have some fun! For anyone who isn’t sure what we are on about, Drop In is essentially our version of a youth club.  Drop In runs every week and is a great way of meeting new friends and finding new passions… and it is totally free! Drop In is your space. Whether you want to chill and chat with your friends, play computer games or do something more active or creative, we aim to provide a space for you to just be you. Drop In takes place in our youth hall which has everything you need.  There are comfy sofas, games, computers, pool, table tennis, air hockey, and sometimes you can even use our recording studio. Our team of youth workers are there to support you, whether you are in the mood for a quiet bit of nail painting or if you want help arranging a massive game of dodgeball! And if it hasn’t been your day, our team are also trained and equipped to talk you through any issues, questions, challenges or worries you might be facing.

We see a future in which young people are change makers, with clear confident voices that are heard above the noise. A future in which any young person from any background can grow and flourish to become their best selves. In that future they exercise both their rights and responsibilities and invest their lives in building strong communities. We walk together with young people as trusted partners who support, guide, inspire and empower them with that future in mind. We are the Mix.

What’s a Rich Text element?

This is a subheading and where it goes in the document flow

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content. A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Young people spend a lot of their time in school, and for us it is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of their journey - through the highs and the challenges.

By building stronger and closer partnerships, we believe we can reduce the barriers young people face when accessing services, increase our collective understanding of the challenges they are facing, and develop responsive and meaningful services and activities that help to meet the needs of our young people, as early as possible.

Our schools team work in two key ways:

1. What we offer – we work closely with the pastoral support teams to offer1:1 coaching & mentoring, groups, break time drop ins and wider initiatives such as peer support programmes. We take a preventative approach, looking to work in ways that promote holistic well-being, positive peer relationships and resilience.

2. What we promote – with one foot in the community and the other in the school, we aim to play an important role in helping young people and their families to discover and access there sources and opportunities within the community that may benefit them.

To access this support please contact a school Progress Leader/Head of Year for them to process this referral with the School Youth Work Team. If you have any questions or queries please do get in touch with us!
