For anyone who isn’t sure what we mean by Outreach Youth Work, we are simply talking about any work that doesn’t take place in our building in Stowmarket.

Ages 11-24

Stowmarket & Needham Market

Usually Friday evenings, but keep an eye on our social media!

How to Use

Using Units

• Use EM for Padding, Margin, Width, Height, Transforms, & Font Sizes
• Use PX only for things that won't break the design if they don't scale such as border widths & drop-shadow distances
• Use % (optional) for columns inside containers

Scaling

• On tablet and below, change the body font size to PX or higher VW number
• On desktop, the design will scale up seamlessly. It will stop scaling when it reaches the max width of 1440px.
• There is no need to add larger breakpoints

Come in, hang out and have some fun! For anyone who isn’t sure what we are on about, Drop In is essentially our version of a youth club.  Drop In runs every week and is a great way of meeting new friends and finding new passions… and it is totally free! Drop In is your space. Whether you want to chill and chat with your friends, play computer games or do something more active or creative, we aim to provide a space for you to just be you. Drop In takes place in our youth hall which has everything you need.  There are comfy sofas, games, computers, pool, table tennis, air hockey, and sometimes you can even use our recording studio. Our team of youth workers are there to support you, whether you are in the mood for a quiet bit of nail painting or if you want help arranging a massive game of dodgeball! And if it hasn’t been your day, our team are also trained and equipped to talk you through any issues, questions, challenges or worries you might be facing.

We see a future in which young people are change makers, with clear confident voices that are heard above the noise. A future in which any young person from any background can grow and flourish to become their best selves. In that future they exercise both their rights and responsibilities and invest their lives in building strong communities. We walk together with young people as trusted partners who support, guide, inspire and empower them with that future in mind. We are the Mix.

What’s a Rich Text element?

This is a subheading and where it goes in the document flow

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content. This is an h2 heading inside rich text

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Our outreach work is our way of reducing the barriers that prevent young people from accessing the support and information they want and need… when they want and need it.

We understand that not all young people are able to come to our building-based activities. Through our outreach projects, we can engage with young people who may not otherwise get the help and support they need.

Friday Night Project

Every Friday evening a group of Mix youth workers head out to the streets of Stowmarket and Needham Market, visiting places such as the Rec, the town centre and Cedars Park in Stowmarket and Crowley Park, the High Street and Lake in Needham Market.

Whether you just want to grab a drink or snack (yes, we bring snacks), have a chat about your day, or find out a bit more about The Mix, we are always happy to stop and talk, whatever the weather!

If you feel unsafe, are worried about something, or just want some reassurance, we want to be there for you.

If you want to organise an activity or change something in town, then let us know! We want to know what you want from your town and help you make it happen!

Our youth workers are easily recognisable in their Mix logo raincoats, so come and say hello next time you see us!
